The best resource I have found so far is customresidency.com. They have a great online database where you can compare programs and guides about the match process (interviewing, resume...). They also edit resume's and personal statements. They seem to have added a lot of cool new features recently so a membership is definately worth it.
Agree -- There's really going to be no substitute for sitting down with a mentor in the field and getting the straight skinny on programs s/he's familiar with.
Thanks all, I really appreciate your comments. I have been meeting with my advisor but he is only familiar with a limited number of programs so I felt I needed another resource.
