Woohoo. Yes, the paranoid freak is finally done with his DATs. I cant believe it though, the security in the testing site was so strict. I couldnt even wear my cap and I had really bad cap hair ;-( Plus, I took a break and almost forgot where I put my identification since I forgot I put it back in my walet. ARGGGGH!!
OK, that was me during the exam and luckily I had that 15 min break to cool off and eat a power bar.

AA: 22
Chem:27
Organic Chem:21
Quantitative Reasoning:20
Biology:23
Reading Comprehension: 19
Perceptual Ability 17 😱
Total Science: 24

Oh yah, topscore is much harder than the Real DAT. I was scoring 18s in topscore because of all those stupid calculations I messed up in and ran out of time. In the real DAT, not much calculations and everything cancels out. Just know your formulas and know the conceptual crap along with it. Organic Chemistry is like topscore. Quantitative reasoning has a **** load of trig. questions. So make sure you know that crap inside out. Hmm.... Oh yah, DO GET PLENTY OF SLEEP!!! I ended up not sleeping because I was soooooo scared since my future is based on this one exam, so I was totally out of it on the PAT. Luckily, I got my **** together after the break. Oh yah, BRING A POWER BAR and Pray to GOD before the exam. I did and he rewarded me nicely. ^_^ Make sure you study too and feel confident because that is all that matters when **** hits the fan during the exam.

---
I just hope my PAT would not affect my admission 🙁
Oh yes, MOST IMPORTANTLY. Thanks to everyone in SDN! MOCHAFREAK and Tweety are awesome. Gave me great advice and motivation ^_^ Love you women. Women are just more affectionate 🙂

Thanks for the offer. I NEED HELP! Life sent me on a little detour, so I didn't take the DAT when I should have, and I'm rusty on everything. Can you tell me what I should do to focus my studies? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Buy topscore and study the kaplan book inside out. Study it very hard and you should perform at least a 20 on Academic Average. Also, when you feel like you are about to give up. Look to your loved ones for support. My mom was there to take me to the test site. She took off work because she knew how badly I wanted to be a dentist, and needed the emotional support for this exam. LOL, cant believe she said, "KISSEY KISSEY Mommy for Good Luck," in the test site. I must had been the joke for the proctors that day. Yah, so look for emotional support from friends n family because that matters when you feel like giving up. If you need more help. Message me personally on chinkiechicken via AIM. I will be honored to help you out.

Take Care,
Richard Wong

By the way, after I saw my scores on the computer screen, I jumped out of my chair n hopped like a bunny to the proctor so she can give the printout of my exams. She then told me to hop back and close the terminal so she can print the scores. LOL, That is how excited I was. So, use that as some humor relief when you take it. Because that level of happiness is well worth that 2 months of sweat and tears studying for the exam. 😀

THANK YOU! Ok, what is topscore, and where do I get it? So, 2 months of studying? How much every day? I already read through the science section of the Kaplan study guide. Also, thanks for the comic relief!

http://www.scholarware.com/ is the site. Just go there and order the DAT practice exams. If you study for 2 months for at least 3 hours a day, expect a good score, 20 AA at least. If you know the kaplan science inside out, then you should do very well. Just look at my Total science. I just read my AP Bio Book from High School , Kaplan Big BLue Book, and Topscore. I also did a few questions from 1001 Examkrackers MCAT series since my sister used it last year for her DAT preparation. She got a 21 AA from that study plan, and I got a 22 AA. So it can happen.

Wish you the best,
Richard Wong

I had more trig. questions than I expected. Plus I was getting tired towards the ends of the exam since I was so anxious the night before, I hardly had any sleep. So for me, it was harder than topscore. However, I think there was no calculations as drawn out or complicated as topscore on the real DAT. So, just be prepared. I expected at least a 22 on the exam, since I was scoring 21 on QR on almost every topscore exam.
Hope this helps,
Rich

-Get plenty of sleep!! Best advice I can give you now.

Cube counting was easier for me. Everything else was at the same level or harder.

this might seem dumb. i have been studying for the DATs since 06/22/05 and pretty much i spend about 6 hrs studying. i took a old version of top score got about 14 and is very discouraged.

i think there is somthing wrong with my studying techniques. can you help me out and point them out to me?

i read through the Kaplan big blue book and i pretty much re wrote ( copy from book to card, word for word) the whole thing onto index cards so i can read it on the card. but one of my problem is that after i study the front i forgot the back and once i restudy the back i forgot the front. so as time goes on it gets depressing and discourages me from studying.

about 2 month has passed, and i still have not raised my score. what can i do?? i am desprete.. 🙁 ..please help me. ANYONE... 🙁

You mean your AA is a 14? I need a breakdown of scores if I am to analyze your weaknesses. The first time I took topscore, I knew the PAT is my weak side. I also knew the sciences and math are my strength. True, topscore is a great indicator of your strengths and weakneses, but it does not reflect the scores you will get upon taking the real DAT. I suggest you go over the questions you got wrong and do them over and over again. Eventually it will inculcate into your brain and will become second nature. Moreover, practice SAT problems for math if you continute to have a problem. Most of all, dont give up or lose faith in yourself. If you have that mentality, the battle is already lost and you will not perform as well or study for that matter to a level optimal for a good grade. So, just get a hard long look at yourself in the mirror and say, "Look, I am a smart man. I know I worked hard and studied my best. The DAT is about X days away, but I know if I am going to take it. I will take the exam and ace it!!"

Hope this helps,
Rich
