Hey All,

I was wondering what everyone would recommend to prepare for Step 1. I have purchased firecracker and I also have all of the Brosecephalons anki deck. Can anyone comment that may have used both and which one they prefer. All help would be appreciated.

Thanks

FC if you keep up with it. Brosencephalon if you want to kill time during dedicated.

^ ... so basically bro is the way to go.

Edit: I also have both in question, and I like the Anki deck a lot more. While FC is good at explaining things, their explanations can be a trail of links. I like to edit the card if it's unclear to me, which Anki allows.

I found most of Bros' path cards to be either too simple, too lacking in explanation, or too repetitive with other cards. Spent so much time editing them that it quickly became overwhelming. The other subjects were better, but it ended up being more efficient to just make my own cards on the topics for which I actually needed them.

Been wondering this ever since an upperclassmen (m4?) mentioned using FC along with first year studies if he could "do it all over again".

Bros has a corrected deck and it's really nice to knock out each chapters' cards before you do the associated qbank questions. Like if you're willing to do firecracker for the entirety of the first 2 years faithfully, it wouldn't have mattered what study materials you used because the gun is strong with you and you're going to get a great score. Firecracker takes way to much time to do on top of class and still expect to retain sanity. Seeing 300+ cards due when you have class exams regularly is just not doable for a majority of med students
