For those who have submitted and those preparing to submit:

Did everyone get the email from VMCAS about the firefox issue - cutting off personal statements?

If not, here's the email that was sent regarding this issue:

We have identified a potential issue with personal statements that were created using FireFox. Due to a patch upgrade from FireFox, the character count function is dropping characters on SOME personal statements.



THIS ONLY IMPACTS FIREFOX USERS…



If you used FireFox to submit your application, please go into your application, and review your personal statement. If you are missing the final few characters of your statement. Please email [email protected] and place “FIREFOX PS” in the subject line. We will contact you about correcting the issue.



Please note that VMCAS staff will be verifying that your statement was in fact cut off before granting ability to make any corrections.

AH! I didn't get the email, but it looks like the last 3 characters of my PS were cut off. I am using firefox 🙁 guess I will shoot them an email. Thanks for the heads up!

Looks alright on my end. Heart skipped a beat when logging in and seeing all the red on the right of my application though.

Oh, thanks for posting this! I got that email and was totally going to do it, then forgot. My PS ended up being well under the character limit so it didn't affect me (even though I use Firefox too) thankfully - like we need anything else to freak out over! 🙄

ETA: Whew, it looks okay. I was under the charater limit by about 10 so hopefully that saved me. The only thing that got cut off is where I said one of my eLORs was a "veterinary proffessor and _____ _____ endowed chair in parasi" ... tology... lol. But I won't be freaking out about that. They know what I meant.

me too! They need to pick a different color, red is so alarming.
