first aid for the wards

first aid for the wards doesn't have yearly editions...first edition looks like it was published in 1998. i have the second edition (just bought it) which looks like it was updated in 2003. so, i think it is a very new version, released earlier and will likely be around for a few years before it is updated.
I would not recc first aid for the wards as I did not find it to be useful for any of my rotations. Your better off purchasing some real board review books with some actual academic substance (like first aid for step 2, if you really want another first aid).
mostly agree with ckent, as the book doesn't offer a whole lot of substance, academically. i do think it is a good book for international students, as it outlines the US expectations for each rotation. here in prague, we rotate a bit differently, so the book is helping me know what to expect from a US rotation.
