First Batch of Acceptances for Arizona

For all you other SDNers from Arizona just thought I would pass this bit of information along to you. I just got off the phone with UofA and they told me they will send out the first round of acceptances a week from today. Jeez, I can't beleive it's that time already. Let's all hope to be getting certified mail next weekend. Good luck. You may have already known this but I was originally told it would be Jan. 31 so this is great news. The second round will come a little later than Feb. 15 and the third round, well let's not think about that.

That is great news! Of course, I won't be telling anyone in my family this unless I get a fatty envelope because they ask too many questions. But that is awesome! Only a week!

So as a teeny side note, did anyone catch that awesome game against USC last night? <img src="graemlins/laughy.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughy]" /> That was so much fun to watch that I taped ER and watched it later. ASU didn't do so bad against UCLA. It was close, which is good because then they will be tired when we play them on Saturday. I love basketball 😀

It's great they are ahead of schedule. I'm wondering about the certified mail though. Do all the acceptances come by certified mail? Does that mean that you have to be at home to sign for it? I am never at my apt and it would suck if I had to haggle with the post office over it! (though it would be a nice problem to have)

We only care about the rivalry when it comes to sports. At least my friends do. And we cheer for ASU whenever they are playing another pac-10 team. Especially UCLA or USC. Or Stanford. And I was thanking ASU for tiring UCLA out so well. Hopefully USC will still be dejected enough tomorrow that it helps for you guys too. I just love basketball. Hey, are you coming down here Feb 22 and 23 for either of the hockey games? They are so much fun! Your goalie is such a good sport!

hey jargon,

rejections and waitlists will not go out until after the third round of acceptances so probably not until the end of March or so. If you get to be on the waitlist there is still a very good chance of being pulled off. Last year from a waitlist of 30, 28 people were pulled off. It seems like a small waitlist, but that's what we were told.

I hope ASU athletics turn around soon, although the womens basketball appears to be doing well. I've been out of school for almost two years now, so I'm not so attached to the sports, but whenever they are on tv I try to watch.

Well, good luck to all, please post when and if you hear something. If I got a certified letter from UofA, dealing with the post office would be my pleasure. One thing I noticed about UofA med school, they do well with technology. Just about everything you could want is on computer and you don't even have to leave your house to hear some of the lectures. They appear to be ahead in technology vs. other schools I have visited which have good reputations. Well, back to waiting.

I think ASU ended up beating Arizona by around 15 points. It was not one of our better games, but I must say that ASU played very well. I think the Cats left their game in Tucson. Or they let their victories over UCLA and USC go to their heads. Probably a mixture of both.

But yes. We Tucsonans will definitely have to get together. I am thinking I will be found at Old Chicago on Saturday. They put hot sauce on their pizza and it is yummy. Mmmmmm....
