Just got my first rejection today

University of Maryland, Baltimore (MYD)MDReceived/Application DeniedReceived/Application Denied

Wasnt my first choice but a good school. 😡 I know im going to get rejected, my GPA is low, slightly above average DAT scores...

oh yea...i turned in my AADSAS August 29th..finished the DAT Aug 24th

My guy friend introduced me to that site (woot) last year...he and his roommate where obsessed with it so I know what you mean, and almost just burst into laughter at work...but restrained myself so the patients wouldn't think I am crazy.

How did they reject you? AADSAS update? Snail mail? E-mail? This thread makes me nervous because last I checked on my AADSAS file was that I my app. was received and under review. Good luck with your other schools.

I got my first reject this week from Kentucky. There was a pretty funny thread last cycle about people's hypothetical response to the schools that have rejected them. I'm currently working on my response, so I'll post it soon.

Don't worry... you only need ONE school to get into right? So who cares if you get rejected to a few 😀 It's all part of the application process.

They can be kinda picky this year.

I actually wasnt too surprised about my rejection. My friend got rejected 2 weeks before me and she had pretty similar stats like mine. Maybe they are just looking for a specific type of people and I dont fit the description.

That's crazy! You have great stats. How did they notify you... Webtools, snail mail, email...?

Snail mail. But from what I heard, they will also update it via AADSAS status page.

that's how i feel about stony brook, since they take so few out of staters. but no word from them.

do some schools wait until dec 1 to mail out/notify about rejections as well?

I know it sounds bad, but I've heard that some schools do not notify you even if you are rejected. If this is true, what a poor demonstration of professionalism... especially since we're donating $50+ for each of our aps to be considered.
