I just got my first rejection to the University of Michigan today. Man...this sucks. It's funny how you can be feeling fairly confident about your chances of getting into a school, and then, all of a sudden, get kicked in the stomach. Anyways, thought I would just share my depression with the rest of you.

what were ur stats, if u dont mind sharing...

yes please do share your stats.. i just aplpied to UM last week..and I am sure I wont hear anything till after the holidays..but when did u apply also?
sorry to hear about ur rejection..but dnt worry, im sure ull receive good news for other schools!

Yea I know how you feel. I thought I'd get into Shenandoah because they pretty much take everyone they interview. I must have really sucked! LOL. But yea, don't worry. You'll hear from someplace else.

I got my rejection letter from Shenandoah today. I am so disappointed 🙁 ,this was the first letter that I have recieved from schools...

I know exactly how you feel. I have been rejected by Rutgers, Lecom, and Creighton already. I'm a BSc graduate, 4 years pharmacy tech. experience, 3.3 GPA, but PCAT messed things up for me. Lecom treated my file like an international student even though am a citizen. Just waiting for Jan. to ask them why. So, hang in there, and pray like am doing.

Sorry to hear 🙁 . What was your PCAT if you don't mind?

I'm very unimpressed by LECOM. They have lost my application after they had returned my email saying they had it. Then they said that they would allow my AP scores from high school and now they won't. All in all they are confusing the hell out of me.

Thanks everyone for all of your comments. I think that a lot of people just post their acceptances on this website and tend to ignore any rejections they receive. Therefore, when you read the posts you tend to think every one gets accepted. I just received my second rejection, to UCSF. So now that leaves me with two rejections and one interview.

As for my stats, I've posted them elsewhere, but I will do it again.
Penn State University: BS Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, BA Philosophy, minor Microbiology - 3 years undergraduate research experience in a biochemistry lab. Johns Hopkins University: MS Biotechnology - 2 years research experience. I got an 84 composite on my PCAT. My undergraduate GPA isnt all that great but my graduate GPA is very good, about 3.8. I think my undergraduate GPA is the only thing holding me back - about a 3.0.

Well, best wishes to everyone. I know its hard to receive rejections...but all we need is one acceptance. Hang in there everyone.

UCSD 🙁 🙁

I wasn't expecting to get in, but with my UCSF rejection coming in the mail soon my confidence as a competitive applicant really has gown down the tubes..👎

Don't worry Polarbear. You have all those other interviews. Just getting interviews means that you are already a competitive applicant.

Besides, I think UCSF and UCSD are both the most competitive schools in CA.

Second rejection letter from USCD 😡 🙁 :scared:

Hey, guys
This is my third time applying pharmacy school starting for Fall, 2005 year. I got rejected (more than 10 schools), then I got accepted to one school finally. It is very important to contact school and know your weakness. Actually, my weaknesses was everything, GPA,PCAT, etc🙁 . I could not do anything with GPA, so I tried very hard to improve PCAT score. Well, science scores were improved but no improvement on English at all. So, I had only average. But, this year, I applied very early and I had very strong Personal Statement and Recommendation letters. Then, it worked.
What I want to say is not to give up.

creighton and more on the way. im just waiting for the actual paper copy of the rejections..

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I guess I'm just being insecure :scared:

🙁

Albany is the meanist school that I have ever deal with. I called them to check my status but they said I should pay $ 100 fee. So I paid the amount by phone. Then, the lady told me they will contact me by mail. Guess what~~ I received an rejection mail from them about three days later. What made me mad was that the postmark date was the date that I call them.

Worcester`'sigh' -they said they more prefere B.S degree. I have B.A in Psychology.

These are really tough schools. Don't get discouraged.🙂

Sorry about your rejections, rx22. I was also rejected from Albany👎 , but i was just wondering did you receive an interview request from MCPHS-Worcester and then get rejected or did they just send you a rejection letter first. I applied and was wondering what their procedures are. THANX AGAIN!!

i received no interview request.. i sent in my applicaton like end of september and had the rejection letter by november i think.. 🙁

and yes like comet81 said..i hate albany also.. they sent me a letter and two emails in a span of one week for me to pay my supplemental fee of $100 and once i did that, in the next week i got the rejection letter 😡

but i have an interview with howard in jan..not like thats very reassuring considering their probationary status and just other problems! so oh well.. 😕

Just got my first rejection letter (UCSD). I'm already in at Michigan 🙂 , but it would be nice to have options...

I was originally interested in Albany but not after speaking to the admissions counselor over the phone. They look at nothing other than your grades. They do not even consider other factors such as previous bachelor's degree, pharmacy experience, extracurricular activities.

The attitude I got from them was "Pay your money and then we can talk." Sounded like a very risky proposition to me, and your story only proves this to me. They would not tell me of my chances, even after I told them my GPA and other factors, until I paid my money.

Your rejection was postmarked the day you paid your fee? Geez, you know they were only after your $$$.

which school did u get accepted to?

lostplato,

Doesn't pharmcas as your cumulative total GPA, average the 120 credits of the 3.0 and the 36 credits of 3.8, which would give you a TOTAL CUM GPA of only 3.18. I think someone told me that the total GPA on Phramcas just adds the number of credits in both undergrad and graduate GPA and that is what the pharm schools look at.

I do not know, I am just curious what PharmCAS would give you as your TOTAL CUM. GPA (Undergrad, Grad, Professional). At least this is what I think that Pharmcas does. Did pharmcas still give you a cum of around 3.2?

Now I see why you are getting rejected, if that is the case.

That is too bad that the quality of school is not taken into more consideration than it is.

There was someone on this forum who had a 3.2 from Georgia Tech, and one of my classmates has 3.56 from GT undergrad and that was considered highest honors (probably equivalent to a 3.9 somewhere else taking into account difficulty of institution).

Yes, the rejection letter was postmarked the day I paid my fee. You can't imagine how regretful I was. I even complained about the issue to the school but they just said that is how it works!! They even reject my friend who has very high GPA and PCAT. So, do not discourage by the rejection of Albany and Worcester. These two schools were not a great choice.

I got a reject letter from UCSF.

I got an interview by UCSD, but turns out that there was a mistake. They are going to withdrawl by interview... It makes sense because I didn't complete the secondary and didn't pay the fee.

I am waiting for Colorado...(I live in CA)

Good luck to everyone =)

I was sent a rejection letter from UCSD today. It was very professional and descriptive for someone who didn't decide to turn in a supplimental application to them.
