Ok, just got done taking Topscore practice test #1. Here are my scores:

AA: 20
TS: 20
Bio: 19
GC: 19
OC: 20
RC: 20
QR: 20
PAT: 25

...what do you think?

Did you guys feel that you scored higher on the real DAT?...and if so, by how many points (general estimate)?

I think you are sittin pretty with these scores. The only section I found much harder on the real DAT was the math section. I was scoring about 20-21 and ended up with a 17 (use Math Destroyer if you haven't already).

There was a poll on SDN a year or two ago that showed most students had +1-3 points higher on the real DAT vs the topscore.

EDIT:

Found a link to a poll that was taken a couple years back. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=557765&highlight=poll+topscore

Awesome...thanks for the link!

Anybody else have any thoughts on my scores? I felt as though the QR was easier on Topscore than it is on Math Destroyer.

I think the topscore QR and PAT sections are stupid, so I can't say anything about those scores. Everything else looks great though. Especially RC, which is 10x harder than the actual RC section. You're in good shape, keep it up!

You are getting at least 22 on the real deal. nice PAT bro

Just got done with my second Topscore test. Here are the results:

AA: 21
TS: 20
Bio: 18
GC: 21
OC: 23
RC: 21
QR: 20
PAT: 22

Again, any thoughts? It seems like my biology score went down, but all others either remained the same or went up a point or two.

Judging from past peoples' posted practice scores, it seemed like the 2nd Topscore test was harder (i.e. people score lower) than the first one. Did most of you find the Topscore Test #2 harder or easier than the first one?

My Topscore science scores:
TS/BIO/GC/OC
#1 18/20/17/17 <--taken 6 weeks before test day
#2 18/17/19/18 <--taken 4 weeks before test day
#3 20/20/19/21 <--taken 1.5 weeks before test day
Actual: 24/22/29/25 <--I'll fill in after my test on the 31st!!! (edit: filled in!)

Looks like our scores showed the same trend from 1 to 2: Bio went down, chems went up. I think it's really important though to not read too much into these scores. Use them to identify weak areas and work on them, but don't get caught up on the actual scores. Topscore, just like every prep material, is aiming to prepare you for the test, not 100% mimick the real thing. That's why Destroyer is so freaking hard!!! But it does a great job of teaching the material as you go along.

You got this! Hit Chad's quizzes hard and make sure you do at least the science sections of the ADA 2009 and 2007 tests. Most importantly, be confident! Good luck!

Yeah, the 2007 and 2009 tests were the first ones I did. 2007 DAT seem wayyy too easy, but 2009 DAT seemed a bit harder. I've done 7 practice tests up to this point. I'm really hoping that I'm prepared, because I have no more practice tests available to work on.

I've been making a running list of the problems that I missed in topscore, and I think I'm going to spend these couple days leading up to the test just going over those problems and making sure I understand how to do them. I also think I'm going to go over all of my biology notes (all 80 pages of them) one more time on the day before.

You better crank that RC score up...

I hit a 29-25-27 on my topscore RC respectively and I ended up with a 23 on the real thing. Expect to drop a few points in RC if you are using topscore as a gauge.

That's interesting, because every source (aside from yourself) has said that RC on the real DAT is easier. Maybe you just got some tough passages for your particular DAT. Most people agree that the only sections on the real DAT that are harder than topscore are PAT and QR.

Eh, to each his/her own. I think at this point, I've prepared all that I can, and now it's just a matter of reviewing the things I've consistently had trouble with.

Thanks to everybody for the advice!

My passages were also harder than the Topscore. But for you, I don't think it will go below 20 though so don't worry.

I thought the Topscore was pretty on par with the real deal on PAT and QR was way harder than the Topscore for me.

Think you're good to go, review and rest well. Good luck!
