I need some advice on what to focus on regarding first year stuff- particularly biochem.
My first semester in med school went very poorly- I passed everything, but in some cases (like biochem) by the bare minimum. I suck at embryo, don't remember anatomy, and never learned biochem (I'm really serious about this). I did much better second year (I honored many of the systems courses- although I need to do some serious brushing up since there is much I don't remember).
I'm not looking for an outrageous step I score- I would be perfectly happy with hitting the mean. So, what is the best way to approach studying first year material. I plan on memorizing first aid in terms of anatomy, and using HY biochem and first aid for biochem. I probably won't study embryo since there is little point in trying to learn it 'for the first time' now, especially considering that biochem seems to be more important in terms of yield for step I. I also figured that it may be best to leave first year stuff till last since I am essentially trying to cram this into my head- if I do it too early in my studying I may forget it.
Any advice would be so helpful. June 26th is loomin 🙁
