Anyone have recommendations for the following subjects:
Pharmacology
Micro
Path
or any other good ones?

I was thinking the Lange ones, but wasn't sure if there was a standard like FA for basic prep.

If you like to study with flashcards, you might try poking around at flashcard exchange a bit: http://www.flashcardexchange.com/tag/usmle

There are a ton of medical/board related cards.

You can use them online for free, but for $20 you can download and print them off. There are lots of options for how to print them, too, so you can really customize your flashcards. With a box of flashcards for one subject costing at least $35 bucks, I've found this pays for itself very quickly.

you could try emailing the upperclassmen at your school to see if they're selling any of their board study materials. most people are willing to sell stuff pretty cheaply if they realize it's just going to sit in their closet otherwise.

I don't have recommendations for path, but I thought that the following were useful for microbiology and pharmacology:

1) Microcards - pretty detailed, but worth it in my humble opinion.
2) BRS Pharmacology - very concise!! Fill in the gaps with questions from UWorld/Qbank and never forget the "hav 1 m&m" and "mad 2's" mneumonic (see biochemistry section of First Aid, and you should be set!

depending on what you do at the gym may determine what flashcards will be useful....for instance I spend a lot of time on the treadmill, therefore i can't read to much on a card while i'm running...so the lippincott path, micro and pharm cards weren't too easy for me to go through while running. BRS cards for pharm, micro, and path were good because they are short and to the point and you can go through them fast. I put them on a ring though so they don't go flying while I was working out and that was certainly a good move.

So overall i think the lippincott cards are great and far more helpful content wise--but the BRS are better for rapid review while working out.

Also, towards the end of my boards studying I got USMLE Recall: buzzwords on MP3 to use when i was running and that was a good review as well (but again, that was towards the end so that was just reinforcement). I know other people on here have mentioned other MP3s that are useful as well, but I only used buzzwords...so it's probably worth looking into other MP3s as well if you're interested.

I was also picturing the OP taking a header off a treadmill trying to focus on a small text card as well. Maybe on a stationary bike or something where balance isn't an issue and your upper body remains relatively stationary would work. I suppose you could have a spotter holding cards in front of your face as you lifted, but your lifts will suffer from the lack of focus.

Can anyone give me feedback on this?

I tend not to think flashcards are useful if there is a paragraph on one side. I like when answers are a couple words at most, and questions are very close-ended.

I have found I am better off making my own, and multi-step mechanisms are not useful on flashcards for me.

Anytone have recommendations for people with my style of flashcard use?

BRS sound like they'd be for you then. They are pretty quick and to the point. No more than a sentence on either side I believe. I liked them and they reinforce material, but you'll need more than the cards to tackle the subject you're using them for.

I think that BRS Pharm would fit your style.
