Stay far far far away from Fair Oaks unless you are desperate or just want some short term job to tie you over until you find something better.
They are becoming like a mini-Sheridan in the mid-Atlantic region. The guy is in bed with the Inova executives and that's how he started obtaining these contracts and expanding.
Again, unless you are looking for something short term or need to be in a certain area, I would look elsewhere.
Lets just say, the numbers they quote you are not the true numbers you will get. Get an attorney to read over the contract. Make sure your malpractice tail is covered. Make sure there is no "gotchsa" to "sign on bonuses"

they do not pay for the tail, the sign on bonus has to be returned if you leave prior to two years,the health isurance is for the employee only and does not cover your family , foaa does not make any contributions to your 401k prior to two years , the bonus after two years as a "parity partner" is not defined and will depend on their cashflow situation.....?@!#

Are there really no good PP grps in MD, WV, of VA (MidAtlantic region) ? I find that hard to believe, but haven't researched it hard??

yes, there are good groups, but this is a desirable region (ex WVa). So jobs are scarce and don't get advertised. Price of buy in goes up to. Particularly as things start to tighten nationally (like now).

The Washington DC area as other posters have said is a very highly desirable work area.
Thus very little prime job openings. I know the Children's fellows had an extremely hard time finding jobs in the DC area in the last couple of years.
The most desirable jobs in that area are NEVER posted on gaswork or similar sites. They don't need to.
I hate to be all gloom and doom, but its very hard for a new grad to break into a successful group in that area unless they have connections. I don't even think the local University Hospitals are actively looking for people either.
And also be prepared to work very hard. My sister is a partner in a Maryland group. Partners in her group make between 450-700K (yes 700K) but that guy works like 60-70 hours a week.
Sadly, the best paying (least amount of work, healthiest patients) are actually with the original Fair Oaks Hospital (the original hospital the FOAA started building their own little mid-atlantic empire but those 6-8 partners NEVER are going to share their money with you. They just want bodies to expand their practice and will hire the cheapest labor.
You need a lot of insider information to break into the area for a good paying job. I'm going to move from my cushy Florida job to either DC or Los Angeles (mainly for family reasons since my family lives in both of those areas. I've got the Los Angles job already (my brother is a partner in the group) ready for me to start in June/July if I want it but my wife wants to move to DC. The LA job pays over 500K but I am going to have to work a lot. I'm at that point in my career where money isn't everything especially if I am never going to be home.
I'm flying into DC to interview at one of the most cush jobs in the area (40-45 hour work week/350K, everything paid for ). This group hasn't hired anyone in the past few years. The only reason I am getting a look at this job is because it's a friend referral.
If you move a little further out (into Baltimore suburbs) there are still a good paying jobs always looking for new bodies. Baltimore really isn't more than 30 miles from DC and cheaper (relatively).
