Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis?

In pathoma, it says that it dose not have any immune deposition and will not be identifiable by immunoflourescence.

But in one of the UWorld question (Q. ID: 9 [433705]), it says that Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis has IgM and C3 deposits...

can anyone please explain what's going on here?

I have annotated into my FA for FSGS (from different practice questions I've done):

"segmental capillary collapse"

SS disease, heroin abuse, pamidronic acid-use

"parts of glomerular capillary tufts show obliterated capillaries, with less than 50% of the glomeruli affected"

C1 + C3 deposition (C1 is afferent arterioles; C3 in epithelium); IgM, IgG, C1, C3 all found; hyaline deposits

So yeah, all of that info is from different practice questions, even one that asked about the approximate percentage of glomeruli affected; it's less than, not greater than, 50%.

In affected glomeruli, immunofluorescence microscopy often reveals nonspecific trapping of immunoglobulins, usually IgM, and complement in the areas of hyalinosis
