I just encountered a practice question that asked about which nucleotide is not dependent on folate for synthesis.

Cytosine is the one (i.e. thymidine and the purines, A and G, are dependent on folate).

I just thought that was a good question because the bottom of p.68 of FA2012 shows that the purine structure at positions 2+8 is dependent on the N10-formyl-THF, whereas p.69 shows that thymidylate synthase requires N5N10-methylene-THF.

No, I'm not asking a question here, but I thought I'd just share that with people for the sake of reinforcement.
