Foot model?

Hi all!

I'm a foot newbie from TUSPM class of 2012 and a new member to the forum.

I have a quick question regarding a foot model that's being used in lower extremity anatomy class.

Temple's having a sale for elastic foot models for the first years for $80.
Being a poor first year professional student, I want to ask if that's a good deal for a foot model, and if there's any other place to get it cheaper.
I've been doing some searching, and the cheapest I could find other than bidding on eBay was around $75 including shipping and handling.

$80 for an elastic one (joints are on bungee string) is a pretty good deal. I think I bought a rigid one online for around $30-50, but I definitely would recommend getting a movable one for that price if you can.

In the end, this (and a good anat book or two) is one of the things well worth investing in. You really need to grasp anat and biomech as well as you can.

definitely get the foot model! I got mine as a grad. gift from undergrad and use it all of the time! It helps put everything into perspective and is an invaluable study aid.

We received our foot models as a result of a wholesale order. Our class President ordered a foot model for each member of the class who wanted one and sent the order in to the manufacturer. We ended up paying approximately $45.00 for each one. You might go that route if you are trying to find a cheaper deal. Good luck!

I ended up getting one from ebay.
Not as good as the one ordered through school, since the one I got has metal wires to keep the bones in place rather than elastic strings, but I still got it for 5 bucks cheaper and it also came with lateral cut models of normal foot, arch foot, and flat foot.
So I guess I can't complain too much.

actually I found a plastic replica foot model that is BETTER than the ones they sell at TUPSM ( i lost my original and had to replace it) and it was only 40 bucks! i got it from a company in cali that sells real and fake bones. PM me if you want the info i can get it for you!

As someone with a black foot, I would like to say that there is no extra bone. The only difference would be the concentration of melanin on the outside.😎 Funny joke though
