how does everyone who has a car in dental school pay for it? can you get loan money from the school since you need the car to get to and from school? or did you guys have to get private loans to finance the cost? what is the best option to go with as my current car sucks but I would like to get something more reliable for dental school (unless I am in NYC, then forget it).

you should just go to Columbia so that you dont have to worry about it. 😎

You are given an allowance for transportation that you can spend however you want, but it is hard to get money for anything outside this proposed budget unless you have a nice financial aid officer. You can get a car loan and pay it off with this allowance, or just get a crappier car.
