Hi all,

I have a specific question: I will do literature research (about 20 hrs) for a Ph.D. who is in pp. The person asks me about how much I was thinking in terms of pay. I don't know!! I was thinking somewhere between $ 10- 15 p hr. I expect to work from home.

Does anybody have experience with this??

Thx

Hey Ms. Phipps,

I've no experience with this, but I wanted to give my two cents. I'd probably go with $12 - $15/hour. It's an interesting question, I'd imagine there's some psychology behind it, & probably some people researching these types of things 😉.

Good luck!

In my experience, grad students and post-BA people typically make $12-15 an hour. As an undergrad RA, I made $8-10 an hour (yeah, I was probably underpaid, but a) I had originally volunteered to do the work for free, b) I was an undergrad, and c) my PI was/is absolutely amazing for my career in terms of authorship, opportunities, networking, et., etc, so I seriously can't complain at all).

Thanks to both of you!! This is exactly what I suggested ($12-15), so, glad to hear that you agree. I learned that I do not have to write lit. reviews etc. but just have to pull articles...sweet
