I typed up a reply to your advice thread, but it suddenly disappeared before I posted, so I wanted to post this reply for you anyway.
It's great that your trying to be ahead of the game. I did the same thing, and I don't regret it one bit. What these people are trying to tell you though, is not to get too caught up and/or stressed out about getting into medical school just yet. Relax, have fun, and drink beer. (or are you of age yet? For me, undergrad is the has been the best part of my life so far, and it will be for anyone who has a balanced lifestyle. Don't worry about getting in too much, once you get to medical school, you may not have half the social life you can have now. BTW, a gunner, if you didn't know, is someone who eats, drinks, and sleeps getting in to medical school. They are always way ahead of the game, and try to 'gun down' others in the class by getting the highest marks. Alot of times, they are the undesirable med applicants. Anyway, post any questions you have on this board, there is always someone who is willing to help. And oh, take chemistry, biology, and maybe calculus, and some liberal arts courses in you first year. Good Luck.
