for L. of Intent, is it appropriate to mention an acceptance at another top school?

for example, is it appropriate to email or write something like this before interview is requested:

"I would like to reiterate my interest in attending [school X]. I am currently involved in [this and that] and have just been accepted to [insert top 20 school here]. However, I would much rather attend [school X]. I hope this is evidenced by my continued interest despite already being accepted elsewhere."

No thats just another way of you provoking them into taking you by naming a far superior school. Nobody wants to be compared like that, and thats what your LOI would be doing.

Its like if you were trying to get a girl you're dating to get into a relationship with you, and you tell her, "hey id really like to be with you, but this other girl, whos obviously hotter and more attractive is interested in me. Despite that however, by me still wanting to be with you, even though something better is calling, should say alot about how much i want to be with you"

This is where you get slapped by both the girl and the med school. Gotta have some tact when you write things like this.

No, not appropriate. You're playing them, and they don't like that. Name-dropping another school won't give you any leverage, as there are hundreds of other equally qualified applicants they can take instead.

excellent point.. guess i'll just tell the first girl that i'm hers and hope the other girl picks me so I can dump the first girl.

we're such great people.

In a situation like that, after your date with the uglier girl, it would be just as appropriate to send her a thank you note afterward and wait for 7 months before she accepts your invitation for another date.

this is of course, after she has jacked all your cash from trying to impress her (like through applications and what not )

i agree no point, just mention that they're your top choice school
