For next year

I wanted to know what my chances were for getting into a Medical School in Texas.
I am a Texas resident. I will be a junior this coming fall.
I haven't done great since I transferred to a proper university here at Texas. My GPA at a community college where I went to for 1 and a half was around 3.5 and then when I came to this university my gpa dropped. Last semester was my first semester here and my gpa is around 2.5 which I know is really bad. This is for 16 credit hours. How much chances do I have to improve it in the upcoming year? I have volunteered in a Down Syndrome Association and will, hopefully, be doing some clinical shadowing this year. I also have almost a year of research.
Also, how much do I need to score on the mcat to help compensate for this?
And just to confirm, so I only have these 2 upcoming semesters to really improve my gpa since people apply during their junior years? 🙁

You should consider taking another year for GPA repair. A downward trend from a CC to a medical school that dramatic will hurt you bad.
