Is it true when you interview at Pitt the dean interviews you and asks you flat out how interested you are in Pitt? Do you think it helps your chances if you directly tell them they are your #1 choice? And, does anyone ask you what other schools you've applied to? thanks...

Interviewed a week or two ago at pitt...

You have an hour long interview with a med student, hour with a faculty member and 15 minutes with the dean.

He asked me why i was interested in pitt, about my interests in medicine, and flat out how many other schools I applied to and which ones in particular i liked. Pitt is not my number one choice, so I didn't lie and say it was, but i found a way of emphasizing the aspects of pitt that really attract me...

Hope that helps,

Brian

I interviewed with an assistant dean of admissions or something like that. We talked for 10 minutes (it was the end of the day and we were both tired) and she just asked me what I thought of Pittsburgh, if I thought I'd be happy living there, and what my far off distant goals were.

Very chill

i'm a first year. when i did it, it was basically for the dean to answer any last questions that you didn't have answered to that point. pretty informal. i think it can be with dean curtiss, ass't dean piraino, or director of admissions linda berardi-demo.
