okay now, I applied to 16 schools, took dat last week, no good, retaking this october, so I want to know which school'(s) its late and dont bother, and by the way to safe money, please help, which of these schools you think october DAT is too late, and when I applied to take the DAT I only chosed 5 schools to recieve the DAT, can i just not mention it to the other schools, or they know that i took it, and if I delay sending the application fee and sup. do you think thats bad, I want to do that so they dont just review my application quick and reject me fast based on these scores, please help!

which 5 schools did u chose to send the scores to? answering your question i think it depends on the reputation of the school, so i would think UPenn, Boston, and Michigan probably will receive lots of apps early, so october might be too late for those 3.

I will honestly say that you are in a bind. You should call each school that you are extremely interested in attending and asking them about your situation. If your scores aren't THAT bad or you have a high enough GPA/extracurriculars then the school will just simply hold your application and place it in the maybe pile. However, if you mention in your application that you are retaking the DAT, then they may just pass it by and review it later.

For the schools that didn't receive your scores yet, you may still have to tell them because the application does ask for your most recent DAT. Not disclosing that information may hurt your chances.

I think it would be best to not send out the application until after your DAT is done and good. Again, this is under the assumption you have a mediocre GPA and extracurricular and that your DAT you took was pretty bad.

When you retake the DAT in October, whichever school you send that score to will also see the score from your first DAT attempt.

As long as the rest of your app is in order, an October DAT shouldnt affect your application too much. Just make sure to let the schools know that you're retaking.
