For those "in the know", when do most residency admissions committees meet to decide

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I can only say that I got a few emails from chairs or PDs that would say things like, "we just met yesterday and we wanted you to know that we're ranking you [insert vague phrase indicating their level of interest here]," or some variation on this theme of "we're lying to you so you'll rank us higher," and these came out in mid-february, right before the applicant's list is due. So I'd guess it's in mid-feb that they meet.

I'd be curious to know how much flexibility they have in altering THEIR rank list after we send ours in, or even if they have a deadline, or how late they can make changes.

on their final applicant rankings?

ie, Do they usually meet the day of or week after to decide a ranking for applicants or do they meet in early Feb to decide the final list before it has to be submitted to the NRMP?

Anybody have any insight into this?

I searched for info on this from this forum but didn't find any definite or recent info on this. Wanted to see if there are any people with updated info on this.

Thanks and have a great day.

That is highly institution specific. Some will meet monthly to review the candidates who have been interviewed thus far, some will do a once for all meeting in February. I think that most programs meet at least twice to review candidates, eliminate candidates who they feel are not viable options altogether, and to mark other candidates as great candidates, candidates to keep an eye on, and candidates who will not be considered until their files are complete (please make sure that your letters/Step 1 are complete and don't stop following up on the former until your profs send in the letters).
