Many of you are getting ready for the 2010 cycle and are asking questions like... When should I write my PS? and What should be in it? Before I started to write mine I had no idea what to do and when to do it, then I came across this workshop. I kept a pencil and pad of paper close to me for ~5 months before applying to get all my ideas down--especially next to my bed cuz I would wake up thinking of some great phrases/a good way of wording things. If I thought of something or heard something in passing that really applied to me and what I wanted the adcoms to know about me I would write it all down. This was a great base to start my personal statement. I also took a writing workshop to organize my ideas and polish off my writing techniques. And definitely have a bunch of people read/critique your final product. GL to all those applying this next cycle!
oh, and if you can get your hands on the "Dentist's Pledge" that graduating dentists take on graduation day at their respective schools--this really helped me focus my writing more specifically.
