I noticed that NMBE 3's screen wasn't the same as UW. I was told by several people that UW is exactly like the real exam in terms of how the screen looks and how the lab values screen looks/works on screen. Are the screens for the current exam different from NBME 3? With UW I like that you have a list of questions in a column on the left and click on any question number rather than having to click on the "Review" button to go back to the ones you marked (NBME 3). Also, with NBME 3 every time you clicked on a number you wanted to "Review" the lab value table will disappear and you'd have to reclick on the lab values button.

Can someone who's taken the exam tell me?
Thanks.

Anyone?

For an example,
UW- has forward/backwards buttons on top that are easy to get to
NBME-had them on the bottom

UW-has a number list of your questions in a vertical column on left that allows you to see which ones are flagged-on the same screen as your questions
NBME-that column is not present on the same screen as the question field. You must click on "Review" button on bottom to view the list of questions you flagged and you must click on the number.

I noticed that NBME format was a bit more inconvenient and more time consuming to navigate through than UW.

I was wondering if NBME 7 and the most recent step 1 screen formats are the same as UW or not......

For me (2 years ago) it was EXACTLY like UW. It is like they stole the software.

Download the orientation practice test material from the USMLE website. The exam screen will look exactly like that.

UWorld is identical to Step 1.

NBME exams do not look like step 1.
