...PLEASE WITHDRAW YOUR ACCEPTANCE.

There are hundreds of us who would love to go to school in Ireland, but can't have that chance unless those who end up not going officially withdraw their seat as soon as possible. The same also goes for interviews to RCSI Dublin and Bahrain.

There are lots of unoccupied seats each year at every school because people hold onto their acceptances too long. Come on guys, help us out.

i second that!! please please please!i dont wanna go anywhere else lol
btw, i had a Q for anyone who knows....is rcsi bahrain considered equal to the other schools in terms of obtaining residencies in US/Canada.
are the grads from there considered irish grads??? i am having second thots abt going there :scared:

I will give you a completely honest answer -- no-one knows yet. This is completely uncharted territory as a class hasn't yet finished the programme and graduated.

As far as I understand from their website and elsewhere, (and I may stand corrected) RCSI Bahrain runs the same course, with the same support structures (that is, like a franchise) but the MD degree will be awarded by RCSI Bahrain, not the National University of Ireland.

Why would a Bahraini degree considered Irish.

IMG is an IMG. In the big picture it doesn't matter. UK, vs. Ireland vs Any other foreign program. You will still need to overcame the same hurdles that other IMG's typically have to.

i agree to that!

i third that motion...if you do happen to get into your first pick in NA do NOT hold on to the acceptance thinking there's a very slight chance you may change your mind (chances are it wont happen) soo pleeeaase (particularly UCD acceptees) withdraw ASAP and give those who are fully convinced that they want Ireland first and foremost a chance ...

think about how much it sucks to get an acceptance in August...giving you literally a month to pack up your life and leave (and the thousands of dollars you would have thrown away on any other back-up school)

so help future MDs out and withdraw as sooon as your decision is made - if nothing else just outta consideration

Excellent!

Also, most of us want to be doctors so that we can help people. Imagine giving someone else that same chance and they end up helping thousands of people in their own career. No matter what happens, you will have indirectly been responsible for all that assistance.

Spread the love guys 😀.

i remember someone else discussing this, but htose of us who havent got in, whats plan B??
carrib? sgu/ross?
australia?
reapply nxt yr?
whats ur take on aussie schools? esp for returning to canada/us i been searching around here and valuemd, very very very mixed responses. neone who knows from experience...please enlighten us

Dude,
I'm jumping on the Aussie boat if Ireland/Canada don't work out....plan C will be SGU or Ross maybe...

I'm applying stateside this year and reapplying to Ireland (this time super early). The Caribe is my last resort next fall.

Since this is my second year applying to the Irish schools, i'm covering all my bases by applying to both Australian schools and SGU/AUC.

so most of us are gona be going the aussie route. thats great. cuz on the value md forums, i have been reading a lot saying that if u wanna return to US, sgu is the better route. but for canada...i think ireland/ australia are equivalently better than the carrib route...
then again...there r jus my speculations and educated guesses
any diff between ireland and australia that anyone knows of??? seems like australia is significantly cheaper to attend(~40K per year..with low living expenses)

i wish someone who knows abt this posts
