For those of you who studied MCAT during the semester, how many hours did you put in per day?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Everyone's MCAT prep experience is incredibly different. I know people that could crank a 128 CARS right from the beginning because they also loved English and reading growing up. I also knew people that took 5 AP classes per year and entered college with a solid foundation in multiple subjects and got >500 on their Kaplan diagnostic. A friend of mine came from an underprivileged background and couldn't even pass his freshman classes, let alone think of the MCAT.

Some people prep for a summer. Others prep for a year.

At the end of it all, you are unique. You have your own strengths and challenges. I'm just telling you this because simply knowing how much someone else studied won't help you much. But since you asked, I studied in 3 hours sessions around 5-7 times a week for several months.

I agree with @ClamShell your MCAT studying is going to be specific to you, just make sure you fell ready to take it, don't rush into it.

Also, I personally studied a few hours a day about 4-5 times per week while taking classes for a few months, and took my MCAT over summer so I could study 8hr per day for a few weeks leading up to it.

Did you put in 6-8 hours as some other sources claim that one must do?

My score right now is below a 500 at around a 480ish...
I am currently prepping for it during my senior year. I started in early august and have put about 4-6 hours a week aside to study for it during the fall semester on content review. Then I have been grinding all winter break about 4-6 hours every other day on content review/ review passages simultaneously. And come this semester my goal is to spend about 4-6 hours a week (give or take depending on tests mid semester) on SOLELY practice problems and review passages, with FL exams thrown in periodically on the weekends since I have about 15 tests 🤢 then may 15th- 29th will be an 8 hour a day grind before my exam.My exam date is May 31st (trying not to kill my app with a late submission). This has worked for me thus far as I am making great progress with how comfortable I am with the question format of the MCAT! However like stated above, its up to the preference as the individual.

what FL practice exam was that 480 score for?
