Historically, the numbers have been clear:
Applicants submitting secondaries in July land more interviews and get more acceptances.
August? Big drop-off - some get in and most August submissions are re-applying next cycle
Post-August? You're definitely re-applying
In most years, verifying in August meant you were already behind and staying competitive was a very hard uphill battle.
But this year is different.
This is one of the largest applicant pools in recent history, and AMCAS verification is running late across the board. Schools know that. They're adjusting to the setback. Nothing changes that those who submitted earlier are getting verified before others - the timing is different and the schedule is the same
What matters more than ever is this:
You’ll need to move fast and submit strong
This is not the time to hit refresh on your AMCAS tracker for the next two weeks. This is the time to get serious. Your secondaries need to be some of the best writing you've ever done. No exaggeration.
