bringing in your blots, data, etc. is a bit much and the interviewer probably won't care/want to see that stuff. if asked, i'd just talk off the top of my head.
haha I agree with these guys and I also say don't do it! I feel like it is comparable to people showing strangers photos of their kids from their wallets. The interviewer probably won't know all that much about your research even after you show them the pictures etc. and puts them in a strange position to "ooh" and "ahh" unnecessarily. I think the interviewers are more interested that you can explain briefly what you have been studying and they are the most content with that. I have a lot of research experience and sometimes I wasn't even asked about it! Plus, you don't want to have to carry around a bunch of extra papers on interview day! 🙂
You don't need to bring anything. Just get ready to explain your research in a simple language that can be understandable to interviewer. Make sure you know the applications of your research, and the impact of your research on people's life...I noticed my interviewer at NYU was more interested to know how/when my research can be applied in the real life.
