For those who have interviewed for a vet school position, why do you feel your interviewed got you accepted, or rejected?
Does that make sense?
In other words, tips on what to do and what not to do? If you didn't make the cut- what do you think you could have done differently?

Thanks-

My advice from last year is don't be afraid to take a second before you answer. The answers I felt the most shaky about were the ones where I felt pressured to answer right away. Take the second to think and compose yourself before answering.

And to answer your question, after two interviews I felt I had gotten in, and I did. After Tennessee's I wasn't sure. But obviously I got in!

I have gone to 2 interviews so far, and I went into both trying to remember that the interview was a small part of the whole application process. This helped me to relax, which helped me to answer questions much better. I think the behavior based interviews are difficult, so no one is going to feel absolutely great coming out of those. I felt like I could have answered things with a slightly different experience, but things still worked out =o)

I don't know the results of my interviews yet, however, in one of them I had two interviewers who were highly negative throughout the whole interview. I was later told by a resident that those two interviewers were a "deadly combination" so that makes me feel much better. He said that they are like that with everybody. I think the most important thing in that type of interview is to stay calm and not start to panic. They want to see how you can handle pressure, so just answer their questions and remember that they are more than likely treating you the same as they treat every other applicant.
