I AM REALLY STARTING TO PRACTICE MY RC COMP, SINCE MY EXAM IS IN 20 DAYS, LAST YEAR WHEN I TOOK IT I DID THE ROAD MAP THING AND BY THE END OF THE SECOND PASSAGE I HAD LIKE 5 MIN LEFT, AND I WENT LOOKING FOR THE ANSWERS, AND GOT 17.

NOW--- for you people who say go straight to the questions, how really you guys do it, do you read the 1st question and start reading from the begg until you find the ansewer to the first q, or you scroll back and forth on the passage until you see a key word that was in the q, or hoy, please be detailed.

take care guys, and good luck to the people taking the DAT soon!

I did a "short" version of what Kaplan said to do...I read the first sentence of each paragraph quickly and made a short map of the passage...then I read the question, found its paragraph, and answered the question. If you come across a tone question, pass on it and come back after you have answered the other questions because by then, you have essentially read the entire passage and will easier be able to answer the question.

I just read the first question and scan for one of the key words of the question. Then i just quickly read that particular sentence or 2 to get my answer. Question about tone i do last because by that time i got a pretty good idea about what the passage is about and what its trying to.

It's trial and error. Need to see what works best for you and stick with that. Use practice tests to determine. I did a survey of what technique people were going to use, earlier this month. Check it out.
