As I'm sure many of you know, SDN is conducting an Auction for the benefit of the Riley and Claudia Fund, which runs through August 31st. I noticed that two senior members respectively put up for auction a personal dinner. Unfortunately, I did not see any senior psych sub-forums members making the same offer. Perhaps, this omission is merely an expression of a desire to not appear arrogant . . . ? Personally, I would be thrilled to have the opportunity.

Or Doc Samson or Whopper or you . . . . 😀

I'll put in the first $100.

The idea that someone would want to pay money to have dinner with me is a little too odd to odd for me, not to mention I'd probably not be in anyone's local area who'd even remotedly consider paying.

I have though offered to give free advice on getting into psyche residency to people willing to call me up.

OPD though is a seasoned & experienced Doc. Samson is another one here deserving a lot of respect.

I did a little looking up on the auction, which I hadn't noticed until this thread, and man, did that make my heart sink. Those poor little girls.

Personally I'd bid on that C&L roundtable with Doc Samson and the Boston Jesuits.

🙁But seriously, if anyone from this forum has it on their heart to contribute to this fund, and they happen to be passing through the upper midwest*, Mrs. Doc and I WILL feed them, auction or no...

*I know that's a major downside for you Sazi, but the invitation's open!

If I ever make it out there, I'll be sure to swing by.

If you were ever looking for a reason to attend the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine annual meeting - the location for Nov '09 is... Vegas, baby, Vegas. I can promise you I'll be there - happy to have dinner and drinks with anyone who wants to.
