Hey guys,

I've applied to some internships that take a group of pre-med students to underprivileged countries to shadow doctors and observe the lack of quality healthcare available to the natives. I was excited about these applications, because I feel like I spoke well and presented myself positively during the interviews; however, now I'm starting to doubt going if accepted, because I talked to one of the directors at my school's Student Affairs office, and this person said that medical schools in the US do not want you to "break" any rules by like helping administer shots or anything else that an undergraduate wouldn't be allowed to administer in the US. Is this true? Have any of you had experiences with foreign internships in impoverished nations? How are they like? And what did you get to do? And is it true that you're actually hurting your chances of acceptance by putting something like this on your CV?

Thanks!
