Hi aurovon,
I did not take any foreign language courses for pre-reqs--USN simply didn't require them. I did take 2 years of spanish during high school (almost 15 years ago or so) and tested out of classes during my undergrad years (I am hispanic, therefore fluent-so it wasn't too difficult).
A foreign language is a pre-requisite for acceptance to Butler but since there is so much to cover in the 2 year pre-pharmacy curriculum, Butler waives the foreign language requirement for Pharmacy students. We are the only students on campus that are not required to take a foreign language.
I did 3 years of french in HS (hated it with a passion, but all the spanish classes were full).
In college it was required to pass up through the 4th quarter of a language (like 1abc then 2a) until my sr year when they got rid of that rule and said if you have 3 yrs of HS you are ok and don't have to take it. I had just started taking that french crap again my last year in college and about 2 weeks into I learned they had just changed the rule and I still thank God every night for it!
I actually do wish I knew spanish, living in So Cal.
I took 3 years of french in HS,(loved it) and when i took the colleges foreign language placement exam i waived all the 100 level french courses, so i took 3 semesters of upper level french here, but i think thats enough for now
Buffalo waives the language requirment. I took 3 years of HS spanish and it was pretty much a waste. I still know some stuff, like saying your mom is easy and what not
sometimes i pick up a simple book written in spanish (childrens Fairy tales, etc) and stumble through it just to prove i accomplished something with that time.
i wish i was fluent but english is such a good language so meh i'll stick with it

right at that moment they moved again and it freaked me out.
I took a year of spanish in the 1st grade
I took a year of spanish in in 8th grade
I took two years of spanish in 10th and 11th grade
I took 2 qtrs of spanish in college
I got A's in all my classes.
I never had to use it other than in class.
I can honestly say..
I don't know how to speak spanish other than what you learn in the first two days of class.. hahahah 😛
UT Austin COP accepts 2 years of high school foreign language, so that's what I used. Honestly besides being able to count 1-10, say hello, and that I have a cat in my pants, I don't know any spanish.
