Hey guys,

I know there are so many of these but I am still confused after all the research. I just want to raise my undergrad GPA a bit by taking classes for a year before i apply to dental school. Would you say it matters if i take formal vs informal??

I feel like the only difference is the structure and support from faculty? But in terms of classes and getting the grades to bump up the GPA...isnt it the same??

Yea it's pretty much the same class wise. It's just people like me need structure.

If you are asking whether or not the courses you take informally are any less effective than those you take formally in a program, the answer is no. You have the right idea of taking courses a la cart in order to raise your GPA; I essentially did the same thing. However, it is probably a good idea to take your courses at a university rather than a community college. Good luck.
