Specialty Pharmacy Student Association Launches

Specialty pharmacy students have a new avenue for professional development and networking.

The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) rolled out its Student Pharmacist Chapter Program—the Student Association of Specialty Pharmacy (SASP)—which will provide specialty pharmacy education, promote professional development, and offer networking opportunities for pharmacy students.

“It is essential that we prepare pharmacy students to take their place in this rewarding industry,” says Sheila Arquette, executive director of NASP.

Students involved in SASP will have the opportunity to participate in specialized workshops and educational sessions, as well as develop hands-on leadership skills.

Another "AVENUE" for pharmacists huh? This "Rewarding industry"? Sometimes I get the feeling they are either intentionally sinking the profession as a whole or maybe just cashing in, Hopefully the latter, which still causes a crash, so its a moot point either way. enough role expansion talk, we need some money talk now. Show us the money!!!

ALL these folks talking about ROLE EXPANSION need to advise where you can work and roughly how much it would pay. Stop just tossing garbage out there that leads to nowhere. the party is over, now it's time to pay the fiddler. lol

You know what i mean? everyone is so fast to say there are NEW roles, you WILL be needed.....etc etc. OK cool, so where will i work? who needs me exactly, and what is the expected salary? funny you will hear crickets chirp when you ask these questions and wait for a reply.

I know right? I know a little too much about this topic in particular. Can’t say too much more without revealing myself but I agree, what she’s saying is a load of garbage.

Your PharmD and license are useless. All tasks must be authorized by a certification board and new grads will gladly comply to "stand out."
