Hi guys, plz tell me wut I should do. I'm currently a Junior, biochem major at UH, Tx. I'm international student. Last year I applied to UH and TSU and got rejected ( i applied late and my PCAT score wasn't high enuf) So this year, I'm thinking abt applying to TSU, UH , Wetern U and MCPHS. But I'm really confused abt Pharmcas system as it's my first time. So when I start my application on Pharmcas, I have to have my Toefl score ready? Cuz mine was on May 15, 04 and it was expired and i'll re-take it on Oct 14... So the question is do i need to wait for Toefl score b4 i apply? 😕 Secondly, tell me wut u think my chance to get it. Last year, my GPA was 3.85 ( Sci GPA 4.0) PCAT: 66%, Toefl 580 paper-based. This year my GPA is 3.91, Sci GPA 4.0, will retake PCAT on Oct, volunteering at Church and Hospital...
I'm really freaked out right now, :scared: can't afford to be rejected again... What do u think I should do to enhance my chance to Pharm school? Many thx.. 🙂 😀

your gpa is good. but that pcat score needs to be increased. most people that get in get between 78-95ish. so start studying like an hour every day.

also....APPLY EARLY especially if it is one of those schools that do continous cycles til all their seats are full. i had to be waitlisted at the school i am going to cause i applied in late december....i am just glad i got my seat. but it sucks that i was between the pharmacy school that accepted me cause i applied by their deadline and the school i am in....

Thx, i'm trying to improve my score in verbal section...
How abt the pharmcas question plz??? I really wanna apply early but do i have to wait for ToEFL score which will be available on NOV 1 ( deadline for Pharmcas also)

You should submit your application without waiting for the new scores. The earlier you submit it the better it is.PharmCAS will forward your new score to the schools when they become available. You should also send in your old TOEFL score to PharmCAS so that schools can get an idea about your English level, till they get your new score.

According to my experience Pharmacy schools are not very strict on TOEFL requirements especially if you have a degree from United States. The reason is that in most of the schools the applicants are required to attend interviews which can also have a writing assignment. They know you would not be able to clear it if your English is not good.

Also since you PCAT score is low, it would be good idea to apply to schools like University of Southern Nevada, Pacific University and other California schools that do not require PCAT.

I'm considering USN, cuz my GPA is pretty high but i didn't have a B.S tho. Since more likely Usn will look at ur GPA and academic background, i dunno if it's a wise decision to apply there.
