Ok, so I'm not finished with my personal statement and two of my elor writers have not completed my evaluations. Is now the time to panic? I am typically the procrastinator, but my goal was to submit mt vmcas Sept 1. Class is starting tommorrow, I'm taking the gre again sept 17, AHHH freaking out, am I the only one?

Jess

Try to remain calm, there is still time 🙂. I think we all have our freak out moments of will I get it all done in time, but just pace yourself and try not to worry too much. I was hoping to get my application submitted today, but it's not gonna happen.

I'm pretty sure I still had yet to ask my third LOR writer at this point...... so no, I'd say it's not time to panic yet. 🙂

I didn't ask my last eLOR writer til 3 weeks before the deadline and she didn't submit until 10 hours before the deadline...I definitely would not be freaking out until at least 48 hours before the deadline, lol.

i'm in the same boat, don't worry! haven't even finished the 1st draft of my PS yet! the goal for me is to finish the 1st draft by this week and have a new draft done every week after that until the last week of september.

and none of my eLOR writers have submitted anything yet. they have plenty of time. trust me, i'm the queen of panicking and i've decided not to worry till later... 🙂

The majority of people don't submit their apps until the last 2 weeks. There is NO advantage admissions-wise (although I understand there may be some psychological advantage) to submitting early.

And don't forget, the earlier you submit, the longer you have to deal with the nail-biting, stomach clenching, ulcer-making waiting game!

You are doing fine, just fine.

Why do you have to remind me of this part? I was doing just fine until I realized that I have to go through that period of knowing absolutely stinking NOTHING. :scared:

No...no freaking out! I'm not done with my PS yet either. We have plenty of time. It's amazing how much you can accomplish in just a long afternoon typing at the computer. As for elors, even if they told you they'd do it months ago, they will probably wait til the last couple of weeks. You do not get extra points for getting your application in early. It's much better to submit a good one in the last couple of weeks than an early one that is rushed. Just relax.

Yeah, I didn't ask one of my LOR's until 2 weeks before the deadline, my PS wasn't finished until 3 days before the deadline, and a (different) LOR wasn't submitted until 2 days before the deadline . . . and I'm leaving for orientation in five minutes, so it all worked out.

One of my eLor writers submitted 4 hours before the deadline.... thats when you freak out. You have time, none of my writers have even started yet and I have asked them 2 months ago.

yea dude, i didn't even start writing my PS until 8/31. most of my eLORs made it early on, but one of my most important ones I had to harass until the day of.
