Anyone know where I can find some neuropsychology tests of executive function online? All I can find is the Trail Making Test. Even if it is just a couple examples from a certain test that would be fine. I know if I keep searching google I'll get more hits but if someone already knows that would be great 🙂

Thanks!

There are lots of procedures one can do (for free) that can assess various aspects of EF. However, most of these procedures do not have freely available normative data. I'm thinking of things like fist-edge-pal, go-no go, proverb interpretation, etc.

Two books to look at:

"A Compendium of Neuropsychological Tests: Administration, Norms, and Commentary" by Strauss et. al

"Neuropsychological Assessment" by Lezak

They will have a bunch of stuff on executive functioning assessment. Neither are cheap, but if you are look at neuropsychology, these will be on your bookshelf.

Seconded. While there is no authoritative text in the field of neuropsychology, the above two books are nearly universally-owned by all neuropschologists I've met.

To complete the "triumverate," let me also throw in a recommendation for "Handbook of Normative Data for Neuropsychological Assessment" by Mitrushina et al.

Thanks for the tips guys 🙂

I'm just looking for a few EF tests so I can present them and explain them to a class. It would be a lot better if I have physical copies of them. If anyone knows where I can any EF test online that would be awesome.

I'm not using them for clinical purposes or anything, purely educational.

This may or may not help. I've never actually ran this software before, but it looks promising:

http://pebl.sourceforge.net/battery.html

If its just a class presentation then dont waste your time and effort trying to download free stuff. Take my suggestion and simply demostrate simple bedside techniques such as fist-edge-palm, go,no-go, semantic fluency, and proverb interpretation, etc. These tasks would fun to do on your classmates in a class demonstation as well, and they dont even require any materials! Use the compendium (Im sure it in your schools library) in order to learn how to properly admistered the procedures and to get examples of frequently used proverbs.

This is a great suggestion, thank you! I was thinking too hard 😛

I don't have any money to spend on the compendium and my school doesn't have it. (school of < 1500)

Take a look at Cambridge Brain Science http://www.cambridgebrainsciences.com/browse/
It has a number of interesting tests, supposedly normed. It's not stated, however, if the norms are general population or just those who have taken the tests on the site. Whatever .... they are still interesting.

I find the PEBL collection to be very helpful for classroom demonstrations. I don't know if it is exactly what you're looking for in regards to EF. I use it for a graduate psychopathology course to demonstrate some of the types of tests used in the research related to cognitive patterns associated with specific diagnoses.
