My local hospital volunteer office is always looking for magazine and book donations. I figured that this is probably common so I thought I'd do a good deed and share with other pre-meds. If you know of any other good ones, feel free to contribute!

Limit yourself to the green ratings unless you're feeling lucky (even if I post it): http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/search/results.php?query=magazines&type=forums&forum=22&match=titles

Stuff I signed up for*: US Weekly, Neurology Now, ESPN Magazine, American Baby, Enjoying Everyday Life, Life Extension, Rewards Gold magazines, Free Biz Mag magazines, Tennis, Diabetes Self-Management, Cruise Travel, Boston Spirit, Mercury Magazines, Afar, Men's Health, The Economist, Ebony, Latina, Maxim, Opera News, Guitar Player, Fitness, and Lego Club.

*Some of these have requirements like you have to be a parent or have to take a quick survey. Some of them don't.

Tips: 1. If you wish, you can search the website provided specifically for the exact magazines I signed up for. Some of them might still be available. I was able to order all of those for free with no problems. 2. Although possibly unnecessary, some people who do this often, also set up a free email account solely for this purpose. This way email lists or junk email doesn't add up on your important email accounts. 3. Some people also use a different first name (or nickname they never use in real life) with the last name on their mailbox to identify junk mail. I do that when I sign up for good causes like Sierra Club, HRC, etc. 4. People who really don't want to be called sometimes intentionally enter the wrong phone number by altering the last four digits.
