This is a stupid thread, but I was at Northwestern yesterday and they gave us a northwestern insulated coffee mug. So I was wondering what other things schools were giving to people at interviews.

List whatever it was, doesn't matter.

in my first 3 or 4 interviews, the schools gave the visiting interviewees those cool laynards with the school's name on it (i.e. NYMed). man, those things are cool. i started a collection thinking that all schools would do that; unfortunately, it stopped sometime in November... wonder if more schools do this (and they just run out) or if I just happened to go to schools that give them out to all interviewers.

Saint Louis University keychain flashlight

Travel alarm clock from WashU....I give them credit for trying to be helpful with the interview process, but I don't think I'd rely on that thing to wake me up for interviews, as it seems very flimsy and unreliable. Besides, wouldn't it be bad luck to bring a WashU alarm class to rival schools like Harvard, Yale, Hopkins..haha

WVU gave us a coffee mug (not the insulated kind) with 2 fortune cookies in it -- one blue and one yellow (school colors) -- and a double sided pen/hiliter, again blue and yellow.

The blue fortune cookie tasted like blueberries with the fortune "You can do it!! Be caring and compassionate. www.hsc.wvu.edu/som/students.

The yellow was lemony tasting, and had the fortune "You will remain committed to your goals. www.hsc.wvu.edu/som/students"

Both were way better than the fortune cookies you get at chinese restaurants.

Kinda cool.

That is flippin' sweet!

NYMC gave us a cool lanyard with the school name on it but it was to hold a badge that got us access during the day. For those who have an amusement park annual pass or something, think of that weird computer blown-up, spread out face that goes on it and that's what you look like on your interviewee badge. Sooooo jabba the hut style!

Most schools give out a cool folder with their name on it when you get the materials for the day. I started using them for class.

MCW gave us cool pens and a free t-shirt....x-large for all though, way too big for me so my bf uses it for pjs when he's at my house

I'll be going to UCDavis, U of Chicago and Tufts soon so we'll see what else I come back with.....although I'd trade all the free crap in the world for an ACCEPTANCE to the school!
