FREIDA and accepting applications

Hi all,
I have been researching rad onc programs on FREIDA, and I noticed that their service says many programs are not accepting applications next year. In fact, only 8 of 31 programs that I came across are accepting applications for the next cycle. It said that none of the 31 programs are accepting applications this year. I'm having a hard time believing this is accurate. Can anyone shed a little bit of info on this? Do most rad onc programs accept applicants every year, or do they have an off year?

I concur with wag27. I just looked up FREIDA's list and there are many, many errors. Numerous programs which regularly take 1, 2 or 3 applicants per year are listed as not accepting applications. At the beginning of each application cycle, it is typical for applicants to post which programs are not accepting new residents for that year.

Despite all this, however, many applicants end up spending useless $$$ on programs that are actually closed to applications. Also they don't spend $$$ on applying to programs that are listed as "closed" but are in fact open. Both things happened to me when I was applying. FREIDA and the NRMP do a really crappy job of QA.
