In my country there's a variety of universities some of them follow the french system and some of the the american.
I want to go to med school, can someone tell me the difference between the two systems? And which one is the best to choose?

The French essentially combine college and medical school into one very long program, while American style does college courses followed by medical school. I'm probably pretty biased as an American, but I think our system is much better. We have French foreign exchange students who come take courses at our medical school every year, and I couldn't imagine being responsible for some of the material that they are responsible for learning at 19-20 years old.

I went to a French high school where I basically had everything set up to transition to college directly as pre-med followed by taking the standardized test that will set you apart from the others in order to start 2nd year of medical school (in France). However, I wasn't certain about the decision of becoming a doctor. So I decided to attend college in the U.S. Here, you get the opportunity to spend 4 years exploring what you like, and even reinforce your desires to become a physician. Long story short, it's all about how well-rounded you want to be. You don't get the same chance with the french system (personal opinion). However, the challenge is that medical school is not only academically and emotionally overwhelming but it's also a huge financial investment. Whatever decision you'll make, do it for yourself 🙂

From the research and what I've seen it appears America looks like a good choice. But, I'm an American too. However, both of which contain a majority of the same cirriculum. But, the other points like having 4 years to discover what you want is true. It's a matter of personal opinion and where you want to practice medicine, best of luck OP poster.
