If anyone has any reputable Frequent Flyer clubs they are members of and could share how to join, please post. Also, if you know of any other discounts on automobile rentals, hotels, flights, etc., please post. Thanks. Interested in learning how to rack up a log of sky miles through the interview season.

Each airline has a frequent flyer program. If you're referring to free-standing programs as "clubs" I suggest you look at the Citi ThankYou points program.

www.flyertalk.com will have more details on everything you seek. I suggest you read through the FAQs first before asking questions.

Being a member of all the airline FF miles programs is a good idea for life, not just interview season. It's really easy - you can sign up for any airline's program while you are waiting to get onto the plane. You can even do it on the return trip and a lot of programs will let you get back-credited for the miles if you put in the details from the ticket on the internet or you fax them a form. Just make sure to save the ticket stubs or any paperwork from the flight, because they do make back-crediting a pain in the neck for you.

I am also using a credit card now that gives FF miles so that when I spend money I am earning miles. I'm going to be taking a heck of a lot of flights this year.

I'd recommend getting a AAA card. They are relatively cheap, especially when you are stranded. Almost every hotel has a discounted rate for AAA. It really sucks to be stuck with a flat tire in a city you don't know, dressed in interview clothes, 15 minutes late for the interview!
