Hi! I'm currently a freshman in high school and I was wondering if I should retake some classes that my high school recommends I should.

I took Algebra 1 Honors and Physical Science honors in middle school (7th grade) and I (barely) passed them both with a C. My high school recommends all students who passed high school courses in middle school with a C or a D because it hurts their GPA. I am aware of that, (I wasn't back then, obviously) I've talked to some upperclassmen and they've said not to worry about it too much, but it's been bugging me since I got my schedule.

I'd be fine retaking physical science (since I literally payed no attention in that class whatsoever, and I don't know how I passed it to be quite honest with you all) but I feel as if I know the material in Algebra, and there is really no need to retake the class (besides to earn a better grade for my GPA)

Also, the classes they gave me were regular, not Honors. And I know colleges will see that on my transcript.
So what should I do? Suck it up and retake the classes, or opt out and switch to Geometry Honors, and Biology Honors (which I can do, but my parents have to sign a paper, which is ridiculous in my opinion) I think it'll affect my gpa, but I was in seventh grade when I took those classes for crying out loud. Will colleges even count that?

Colleges won't care about anything pre-ninth grade. Hell, they probably don't really care about ninth grade to begin with. I'd do whatever option has you taking the most competitive classes in your junior and senior year, granted that you think you can do well in said classes.

Honestly I think you should be able to take those classes though you might need some outside help for the material you may have missed.
