Just a little friendly reminder. When you say you "Don't know the person" instead of politely "declining", it puts the Facebook person in Facebook Jail. Which means no friending and no messaging people for SEVEN days! 😡

I just tried "friending" 4 people from the SDN facebook group, because, hey why not. And now I'm in "jail" because of you. 😡

Whoa. I didn't know it did that! I don't think I've used that on anyone unless I was friended by someone I truly did not know . . . but it's good to know what happens! 😱
 
Yeah I only use that when really obscure people add me. Did the people you were friend requesting have a heads up before you sent the requests? Maybe they genuinely did not know who you are.

WS, I'm sorry for your pain (and I would just politely decline someone I didn't know rather than get all bitchy with a "I DON'T KNOW THIS PERSON"), but...

... I can't help but find the idea of Facebook "Jail" to be kinda funny. Like, are there Facebook Police that haul you off and throw you in the cell? 🙂
 
Apparently, it's against Facebook policy to friend people you don't know. Well, what if I DO know them and they just hit the wrong button?! Stupid effin' facebook. Seriously pissed at it right now. 😡

I could understand asking if you know them or not if you decline so if it's some random weird person it blocks them, but I've never understood why it asks after you accept a request as well. Obviously I know them if I accepted the request...

Not necessarily. Pretty sure those people with 1,500+ friends don't even know half of them.

This whole jail thing may explain why a person receives creep messages instead of friend requests...hmmmm. I had to change my settings after that.

Up until this point, I have only been re-friending people that once were on my friend list a few months ago. I went into purge mode about 6 months ago and went from 300+ friends to 50. I've been slowly adding them back. So, yes, they do know they know me. (not including the few people from the SDN group)

I don't think so, which is why I made this post. So everyone is aware of what Facebook does. I "complained" to facebook, haha!

Some of my friends have actually told me, they accidentally hit the button because it was the first one they saw. 👎
 
Where do we stand when someone defriends you on Facebook, when that someone is on SDN?

Just a little confusing, and maybe a little sad.

Especially when what person makes a big deal about being friends with other people from SDN on Facebook.

Jam, if you are talking about me, I'm sorry. 🙁 I went through a very low point in my life earlier this summer, around mid May. And deleted 90% of people on my Facebook. Not exactly a proud moment for me, but at the time, it seemed necessary. I've since gotten through it, and realized the mistake I had made. Hence, all the re-friending that got me in "jail".

Feel free to re-friend me! I will not be "friending" for awhile, as I would like to remain out of Facebook Jail, so I can sell some of my stuff in a group I'm a part of.
 
I wondered where you went! Figured I had bored you to death with my incessant postings about Jag-the-wonder-pony. "OMG. YOU GUYS MY HORSE IS THE VERY CUTEST EVER LOOK AT THIS PICTURE. NO. LOOK AT ANOTHER ONE!!!!" ahem. I've never done that. 😛
 
I 😍 SDN FB friends!! So nice to see how everyone is doing! Especially since I really only check FB regularly now and not so much SDN 🙁

I have declined many people, and I knew a number of them, just didn't know I knew them.

I might have said "i don't know them".... but now I will not do so in the future.

FB Jail....Sounds like a new WW themed game... then again everything does for me.

What did you do this time to end up in FB jail? I kind of want to know all the ways people can end up in this odd, somewhat mythical, place.
 
I sent EIGHT friend requests to people I know in "real life", ie not on the computer. 2 or 3 of them declined, saying they didn't know me. 1st time is 7 days. 2nd time is 14 days. 3rd time is 30 days. No idea what 4th time is.

And wow...FB is super strict on the "don't friend people you don't know thing"....

3rd time? Geez, ever since I found out you can FB jail I plan to do it to anyone I don't know. 🙂
