i've never been 100% sure about dentistry, and as a result, i have been shadowing many other health professions. after shadowing my optometrist, i finally decided this is what i wanted to do.

I think denistry would be good, and I've seen my dentist go from working with another dentist to having his own practice. He seems to like it and I know he's got to be making a ton of money. I don't think I could do what he does though. I was always terrified of the dentist when I was a kid and I still don't really like x-rays or impressions. I think it would be pretty hard to give those or even fill cavities when you know the person you're working on really really doesn't want to be there.

dentistry is awesome, however, my interest in optometry stems from a tramatic experience 6 years ago. both have my attention, and i've been back and forth between the two for quite some time now. truth is, i change my mind on a daily basis, so until i attend either professional school, im going to shutup. 😉

That's true, but I think you could say the same thing about any sort of non-elective surgery. Who enjoys going under the knife (or drill, or laser, or...)?

Dentistry in the past was more painful than it is currently, due to advances in technology. I use to be on those "kids" that hated going to the dentist, but now-a-days, I love going to the dentist.
