Hi,

I interviewed at Ferris State on Feb 10th, but haven't heard back.
I'm really anxious, I have a low 2.9GPA, but an 82th comp on the PCAT and I feel like I performed pretty well through the interview process including the writing portion.

I emailed Tara Lee last week, and she replied by saying that they hope to have results sent out to all applicants by the middle of this month at the latest...

Anyone interviewed and heard back already?

Thanks.

I actually got my acceptance letter today. I interviewed with them last Wednesday (03/03).
I heard from the Associate Dean that you should hear by the end of the month at the very latest, there is a lot of time left -so keep the faith. 🙂

Congrats!!!

Do you mind sharing your GPA and PCAT scores?

Just curious who you guys interviewed with. I've heard conflicting reports on who conducted the interview.

Thanks.

Who was the person across the table asking questions.

I was interviewed by two men, one looked in his 30s, the other at least in his 40s. One guy did all of the questioning, the other just observed and wrote down my responses.

My DD will be starting the honors pre-pharm at Ferris in the fall. Any tips, suggestions, etc for her? She'll CLEP out of Eng 150, and get AP Credit for Psych, and another culture awareness. AP Calc for the full 72 credits for financial aid. Any help would be appreciated!

I received their letter today. 😍

I'm so happy. Good luck everyone.

My daughter received her acceptance letter yesterday. 🙂

9panther and blue glide, when did you guys interview? I interviewed on March 3rd and I still have not heard anything. I am really starting to get worried.

My daughter interviewed in early Feb. (don't remember the exact date). She called the COP earlier this week and they told her there was a bunch of letters getting mailed out within the next day and we got her letter here at home yesterday. Hope this helps....I think I was more nervous for her than she was!

I am also worried, I interviewed on Feb 10th... Do you mind sharing your stats?
I'm at 2.9GPA and 82th comp PCAT, and don't know my chances.

Congrats to your daughter!!!
Do you know her stats?

Thanks!

So I received a letter from Ferris today placing me at #193 on the wait list... great 🙁.

Is that good or bad? Can you explain this in more detail if you can?

Thanks a lot!

Ferris COP has 150 seats. Once those seats are filled, the rest of the applicants are given a priority number from 151 onwards. If an admitted student decides not to accept their admission then whoever has the lowest priority number is offered that seat.

Looking through this forum, it seems that recent years have shown priority numbers stopping at...
2009: 175
2008: 201
2007: 206

Last year (2009) was the first year I think that interviews became part of admission, therefore I don't think priority numbers will get up to 200+ like they used to back when there were no interviews (2008 and prior).

With my #193 spot, honestly I don't think I have a chance. Unless 43 admitted students deny their admission... :xf:

Yeah I just saw my letter moments ago. I am #195🙁

This is going to be a loooooooooooong wait

By the way, how can we keep track of our number and status?

I know and I thought the wait from hearing back after the interview was long... 🙁.

I'm guessing within a week or two there will be priority number updates here, as in recent years.

Ferris has 105 seats and they accepted 150 last year. They interviewed 258 students last year so it will be difficult to get in.

Hi all, I too was accepted recently. Look forward to meeting people.

So if I am number 195, do more than just 45 people have to decline their acceptance for me to get in since there are 105 seats instead of 150?

Ferris website states in their FAQ that the class size is 150 and thats the number we have been told all along. Not sure where the 105 comes from.

I got my acceptance letter in on the 10th I was super pumped. Looking forward to meeting everyone at orientation! Just have to stay motivated to finish this semester.

For anyone who already received their acceptance letter, how long do you have to accept or decline? Just curious as to when they will begin pulling from the waiting list.
Thanks

Tara Lee said they have 105 seats but they accepted 150 last year, so 45 were pulled from the list. if you are on #195 then 90 accepted students must withdraw in order for you to get in. can someone confirm how many seats are there?

I hope that there are 150 seats, because I talked about the larger (150 specifically) class size in my interview. If there are only 105, I will feel like a huge assssss.

I just checked Ferris' website, and in the FAQ section it said the class size is 150.

And fsu415, my acceptance letter said I have to submit my decision by April 9th.

Ya I would say you have pretty decent chances, not certain but pretty good.

I don't know about that. Last year I think only 25 people dropped. And in my case, I have to hope for 45 to drop😱

Just to let everyone know, the priority number is now posted.

Well the priority number is now 162 guys. Do you think there is a realistic chance it will reach 195 before September?

I don't know. The number is moving up a little faster than it did last year but we'll just have to wait. Last year the number was up to about 165 by the end of May and then didn't move until like the beginning of August so we'll just have to see. Stressful huh? I watched the number like a hawk last year ha.

you never know with ferris. I know its a safety school for a lot of people so depending, a lot of people could drop. I've heard of the priority number getting up over 210 before so just keep your fingers crossed.

The Ferris number is already up to 171??? I figured it would move like an ant like it did last year so I've been trying not to think about it but with where it's at now and having my number, 178, I'm starting to actually get a little excited.

Yeah that number is moving pretty quickly. Just to let you guys know, if my number gets reached (195), I will decline as I I have been accepted into my top choice (Wayne State University).

@ ckp64 the gpa that you have, is that your pharmcas gpa?
