how many are recommended prior to the test? does anyone NOT take a full test and just focuses on each section?

Definitely take a couple practice tests at least... YOu need to work on STAMINA! Being able to sit there for 4.5 hours taking all parts of the test. I recommend at least 3. but that's my opinion.

As many as you can. After doing a full length diagnostic, I did section tests untimed, then timed section tests. towards the end I was doing a full test every few days, and then every day the week of the actual dat.
