guys, i am wondering if i have a shot to be a doctors or not.
i just got my BS on chemical engineering at one of the UC schools. with a overall gpa 3.38, 3.36(science) and a fresh mcat 32R
my gpa isn't impressive because i XXXXed up my freshman year with a 2.11GPA, and there were a couple of F . i retook those classes and end up with A. From sophomore year on, i had an average of 3.88GPA.

500+ hours volunteering in hospitals
4o+ hours community servers
2 quarters of research( engineering field ), no paper published
shadow in 4 specialties
speak 4 languages(hope that help)
tried out american idol, didn't pass the first round

If i apply i will do it next year. at the mean time what you guys think i should do to give it a boost?

😳😳😳 no response🙁🙁🙁

Your stats as they are would be competitive for DO med schools.

Your stats as they are might give you a chance at MD med schools that give less weight to the freshman year, and even more especially if you're of nontraditional age. If you've been out of school for awhile, updated academics, getting some As in upper-level Bio classes to steepen your upward trend might help.

For a better chance at more MD schools, a higher MCAT score would help to compensate for the low cGPA. An alternative approach might be to complete an SMP to override the lower cGPA (as a backup plan).

Teaching or leadership, and particularly ongoing nonmedical community service would be helpful to your application. Don't forget to list them if you've got them.
